Hope in Action: Supporting Communities Through Crisis and Recovery
When disaster strikes, it can take everything, homes, stability, security, but hope remains.
As The Salvation Army transitions from emergency response to the critical phase of immediate recovery in Kerr County and all affected areas, teams from across the state have mobilized to help. Among them are case workers from The Salvation Army of Greater Houston, standing shoulder to shoulder with other agencies to serve families facing unimaginable loss.
Recovery is not just about rebuilding homes; it is about rebuilding lives. Our team is offering more than physical supplies. We’re providing emotional and spiritual care, essential resources like food, hygiene and cleaning kits, and housing assistance to help individuals begin the long but hopeful road to recovery.
These one-on-one moments of care and support are where transformation begins. Whether it’s helping a family find temporary shelter, assisting with paperwork for aid, or simply listening and praying with someone in grief, this is what “Doing the Most Good” looks like in times of crisis.
To our dedicated case workers, partner organizations, and generous supporters: Thank You. Your compassion ensures that when the storm passes, we remain until recovery becomes reality.
