CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH: HONORING HOUSTON VOICES

Jun 14, 2022

As we reflect in a month-long celebration, The Salvation Army honors the experiences of people of color in The Salvation Army today.

One of those voices is Ms. Yolanda Brown, our CCHP Diversion Case Management Specialist. After years of service to The Salvation Army, Ms. Brown has a deep commitment to helping those around her succeed and overcome difficult challenges in life.

Ms. Brown shared with us how she celebrates Black History Month, her hopes for the future, and how her Christian values have helped her navigate her journey.

“During the month [Black History Month], what I do is reflect on things, I celebrate hope, and I celebrate legacy.”

Be a part of celebrating American history with our African American brothers and sisters, and help us meet human need in His name without discrimination.
