A New Season of Service: Welcoming the Walkers to Houston

Aug 7, 2025

Recently, our staff came together to share a meal, connect, and welcome Captains Jeremy and Michelle Walker as they begin their new season of ministry and leadership with The Salvation Army of Greater Houston.

With over 13 years of experience as Corps Officers, the Walkers bring a deep well of knowledge, faith, and compassion to our community.

Throughout their ministry, they have served in various roles leading food distribution programs, providing shelter and disaster relief, offering spiritual care, and empowering youth through outreach and mentorship.

Before entering full-time ministry, the Walkers lived on a 3,212-acre ranch in Midlothian, TX, where Captain Jeremy served as Ranch Manager. At the same time, Captain Michelle worked as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in Fort Worth a role that speaks to her nurturing heart and dedication to helping others in their most vulnerable moments.

Captain Michelle grew up in The Salvation Army, as her parents are both Officers. Captain Jeremy was raised in a non-denominational church, where his parents were active leaders, together, they embody the heart of our mission to meet human need in Christ’s name without discrimination.

We are excited for all that lies ahead and feel incredibly blessed to have such devoted and experienced leaders joining our Greater Houston family. Please join us in giving them another warm and heartfelt welcome!
