Letter from Our 2024 Annual Luncheon Chair
Over the last four years, The Salvation Army has become one of my passions… and I am grateful that it is one of yours too! Thank you for your support. Through your generosity much has been done to serve those in need and yet, much more needs to be done.
It is inspiring to see an organization, with such a legendary history, continue to do so well with your help. Last year The Salvation Army provided:
- 225,982 - Meals for the Hungry
- 43,286 - Nights of Shelter
- 2,242 - Children’s After school Programming
- 1,178 - People placed in permanent Housing
- 600 - Men in Recovery for substance abuse
- 365 - Days of Spiritual and Emotional Care
We are excited to announce The Salvation Army’s 30th Annual Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at the River Oaks Country Club – mark your calendar now and save the date! We are truly thrilled to honor Holly and Tom Forney for their years of loving devotion to The Salvation Army with countless hours volunteering, generous financial support, incredible work in overseeing the new area command on North Main, compassionate and inspirational leadership.
The Annual Luncheon is one of The Salvation Army’s most important events of the year. While it is a significant fundraiser, it also kicks off the Army’s iconic Red Kettle season. Proceeds from the luncheon and the Red Kettle directly support the many life changing programs and services provided by the Army for the greater Houston Area. We invite you to join us in celebrating the achievements of 2024 and kick off the Red Kettle program through a generous sponsorship or table purchase.
