Youth Programs

The Salvation Army of Greater Houston is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through programs and services that entice them to stay positive and motivated. Our Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe haven for hundreds of young people to attend after school and during the summer. At these facilities, Salvation Army staff and volunteers engage them in positive activities such as sports, homework sessions and mentoring opportunities.

At our six Corps/Community Centers throughout the region children are offered a safe environment in which to explore and maximize their potential after school. Our staff and volunteers serve as positive role models for these children, and provide them the leadership skills that parents have come to expect and appreciate from The Salvation Army. Our Boys & Girls Clubs – at most of these community centers – offer fun recreational activities for our children to participate in. From dance and music lessons, to Tae Kwon Do classes, and even special visits from local celebrities and sports teams, there is always a positive message to the work we do.

In the summertime, parents are also offered the opportunity to have their children participate in our summer camp program.
