Area Command (Administrative Office)

Warehouse Manager – FT

Supervises and participates in the work performed by employees, and/or community service workers in the warehouse. Monitors the supply of items available in the warehouse in order to determine the availability of supplies. Supervises and participates in packing items in boxes. Maintains inventory of items in storage. Ensures the warehouse area is properly maintained and secured at all times; keeps the dock and storage area clean, organized and in conformance with generally accepted standards for safety and fire codes.

Grant Writer – FT

Ensures that the departmental fundraising goal is met for the fiscal year as determined by the annual operating budget accomplished through planning and monitoring of team results; plans, develops, and manages the Grants process within the Fund Development Department; oversees and coordinates funding from corporate, and private institutions/foundations; facilitates research, development, review and writing of grant proposals; monitors project tasks and conducts research for potential funding sources; maintains various databases and prepares technical and financial reports.

Volunteer Coordinator – FT

Recruits, enrolls, and trains volunteers for service projects within the organization; helps supervise volunteers; prepares and distributes letters to volunteers; collects, organizes, and maintains volunteer information; assists in the preparation of volunteer activity reports.

Garden City Boys & Girls Club

Program Aide – PT 

Primary Functions: Assists in facilitating and monitoring activities of the Boys and Girls Club; supervises and coaches sporting events; assists in maintaining the Boys and Girls Club facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club – Aldine Westfield Branch

Unit Director  – FT

Plans, develops, coordinates and directs all youth activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club; plans and coordinates fund-raising and recruitment events; recruits and supervises all assigned staff and volunteers; maintains all program equipment and resources; plans, coordinates and evaluates a portfolio of youth development programs to fulfill the Club’s mission and goals & to enhance participants’ optimal Club experience; represents the Club in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army.

Family Residence

Shelter Monitor – PT 

Primary Functions: Assists residents staying in the Family Residence overnight; performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Primary Functions: Cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Primary Functions: Performs a variety of routine repairs and maintenance work for buildings and grounds including minor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work as well as routine maintenance and repairs.
