Area Command (Administrative Office)

Major Gifts Manager – FT

Primary Functions: Plans, develops and manages the Major Gifts Department within the Development Department; coordinates major funding particularly from individuals within the command; provides oversight and/or coordination and preparation of proposals for all requests for major individual funding appropriate to The Salvation Army, seeking out new funding opportunities for Army programs around the command; works directly with the Director of Development and team to develop comprehensive development plans that include the cultivation of major gift resources, multi-year commitment funds and other strategic support in order to generate revenue to support the Area Command

Office Manager – FT 

Primary Functions: Provides primary administrative support to the Development department; ensures the accomplishment of the various office tasks in the most efficient and effective manner possible; cross-trains and supports all office assignments concentrating on targeted deadlines and quality standards; prepares various routine and special reports to keep the department heads abreast of progress.

Social Services

Qualitative Research and Evaluation Manager – FT

Primary Functions: Conducts program evaluation activities and reviews the same for all Houston Area Command units through use of HMIS data; oversees assigned staff and volunteers; uses evidence- based knowledge and skills to determine strengths and weaknesses in HAC wide HMIS data collection activities and monitoring of progress on program and services outcomes; develops statistical methodology; facilitates program evaluation project planning and strategic data analysis, exploring program and services effectiveness; prepares required funder reports and provides recommendations to improve program effectiveness; recommends program modifications, revisions and terminations based on analysis of outputs and outcome analysis, insuring effectiveness of Area Command programs and services; receives and compiles monthly statistics from all HMIS related programs.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club – Garden City Branch

Program Aide – PT 

Primary Functions: Assists in facilitating and monitoring activities of the Boys and Girls Club; supervises and coaches sporting events; assists in maintaining the Boys and Girls Club facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Unit Director  – FT

Plans, develops, coordinates and directs all youth activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club; plans and coordinates fund-raising and recruitment events; recruits and supervises all assigned staff and volunteers; maintains all program equipment and resources; plans, coordinates and evaluates a portfolio of youth development programs to fulfill the Club’s mission and goals & to enhance participants’ optimal Club experience; represents the Club in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army.

Cook – PT

Primary Functions: Cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Child Care Aide – PT 

Primary Functions: Provides care for children and infants in a child care environment including personal care, hygiene, meals and snacks, learning and developmental activities and specialized programs; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of child care area.

Maintenance Technician – FT

Primary Functions: Performs a variety of routine repairs and maintenance work for buildings and grounds including minor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work as well as routine maintenance and repairs.

Job Summary – Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from various locations; ensures the vehicle meets the scheduled maintenance and performs operator’s maintenance in accordance with established standards.
