Social Services

Senior Counselor / ACE-HT Service Navigator – FT

Primary Functions: The ACE-HT Service Navigator serves as the primary point person for providing specialized services to victims of human trafficking that have been identified through a variety of partners. The Service Navigator will also be responsible for building capacity within various partner programs to identify victims of human
trafficking. The specialized services include crisis intervention, assessment and service planning to victims with a specialized emphasis on providing coordinated access and support to those seeking non-emergency shelter housing options. The position helps victims address the healthcare, social, financial and safety problems related to their exploitation.

Qualifications: Education requirements – Bachelor’s degree in a social or behavioral science, such as Sociology,
Psychology, Social Work or Counseling. Experience requirements – Three years of professional experience in counseling or related social services work are required. A Master’s degree in a social or behavioral science may substitute for two years of the experience requirement.

Qualitative Research and Evaluation Manager – FT

Primary Functions: Conducts program evaluation activities and reviews the same for all Houston Area Command units through use of HMIS data; oversees assigned staff and volunteers; uses evidence- based knowledge and skills to determine strengths and weaknesses in HAC wide HMIS data collection activities and monitoring of progress on program and services outcomes; develops statistical methodology; facilitates program evaluation project planning and strategic data analysis, exploring program and services effectiveness; prepares required funder reports and provides recommendations to improve program effectiveness; recommends program modifications, revisions and terminations based on analysis of outputs and outcome analysis, insuring effectiveness of Area Command programs and services; receives and compiles monthly statistics from all HMIS related programs.

Family Residence

Shelter Monitor – FT

Primary Functions: Assists residents staying in the shelter; performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Kitchen Assistant – FT

Primary Functions:

Preps and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Lead Case Management Specialist – FT

Primary Functions: Serves as lead worker to case management staff; interviews, accepts, and provides comprehensive, long-term, structured, complex, case management services for an assigned caseload of clients participating in an established  life management program; understands the uniqueness of the client’s history in order to determine most effective program plans; develops comprehensive program plan/goals and evaluates client’s progress by conducting mentoring and counseling sessions with client and/or staff; serves as advocate for client in order to acquire services that will enable them to functionally cope with their environment; ensures constant compliance with funding requirements.

Primary Functions: Leads children’s activities at an after school program, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; prepares and serves children lunch and snacks; assists in leading field trips; maintains the cleanliness of the after school area; transports passengers in a Salvation Army vehicle.
